What is YMUN?
Welcome to the largest Model UN conference held on an Ivy League campus, attracting over 1,800 delegates from 35 countries.
Yale Model United Nations is a four-day international relations simulation for high school students, held on Yale University’s campus in New Haven, Connecticut. It is the premier conference hosted by the Yale International Relations Association. At YMUN, delegates from all over the world debate complex global challenges in one of the most historic and influential settings of any Model UN conference in the world.
Delegates assume the roles of United Nations ambassadors, national policymakers, and international diplomats to hone their understanding of global politics and international problem-solving. By debating topics concerning international security, political and economic development, human rights, sustainability, cultural preservation, and more, delegates learn to navigate the intricacies of international negotiation and teamwork, adopt new perspectives, and write comprehensive resolutions on pressing global issues.
YMUN’s legacy of elite debate, committed and caring Secretariat members, creative committees, outstanding educational opportunities, and complete integration with Yale’s campus makes it one of the world’s premier Model UN conferences.
“...YMUN is the most organizationally sound conference we have ever attended.”
“... Ban Ki-moon’s speech was priceless and an opportunity very few have in the world; the debates were inspiring, and the students couldn’t stop sharing their experiences and solutions.”
“Alumni from my school cite YMUN as one of the high points of their entire high school experience. Thank you so much for your hard work!”
