Judges:

Judges occurs from the submission deadline to the day before Yale Day ticket sales. Good luck!

This year, with the focus on honoring resilience and impact, our art competition theme is “Legacy”. In a world where things are rapidly changing, the legacies we honor become the threads connecting people, countries, and cultures. Our legacies remind us of our values, shared histories, and the power of collective recognition to inspire future generations. For your submission, we encourage you to ponder the legacies you’ve observed around you. Which ones impacted you the most? Why? Create a piece of artwork that explores the concept of legacy—its power to connect, empower, and preserve across time.

Category Guidelines

Visual art of any style, medium, and size will be considered. This may include painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, illustration, photography, digital art, animation, fashion design, jewelry, etc.  Please submit a high-quality scan, photo, or video (no more than 5 minutes in length) for consideration.

Along with your submission, please also submit an artist’s statement of at least 200 words but no longer than 300 words. The delegate should use this statement to explain how their submission related to the contest theme. This statement should also include materials used and the size of the work (if a painting or sculpture).

**These guidelines are subject to change.
