Welcome to YMUN! Below is a detailed schedule of events for your time in New Haven. All events are required unless specifically noted. All times are EST.

Thursday, January 23

2:30 PM - 6:30 PM: REGISTRATION

LOCATION: OMNI YORK

One advisor for each delegation must attend registration. Delegations are encouraged to complete registration as early as possible to avoid long lines.
If you are staying at the Omni, check in simultaneously with YMUN registration (not in the lobby).
If you are staying elsewhere, check in to your hotel and leave your luggage there
before coming to the Omni.

3:30 PM - 4:00 PM: INTERNATIONAL DELEGATIONS RECEPTION

LOCATION: OMNI GRAND BALLROOM

Encouraged for all international delegations, but not required.

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: DELEGATE TRAININGS

LOCATION: OMNI BALLROOM AB (New Delegate Training) and OMNI BALLROOM C (Advanced Delegate Training)

Open to all delegates, but not required. 

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: OPENING CEREMONY

LOCATION: WOOLSEY HALL

Required for everyone. Seating zones are assigned at registration. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early, as the ceremony will begin at 7:00 sharp. Bags larger than a small purse/handbag are strictly prohibited.

Note that delegates will be released from Woolsey Hall directly to their first committee session with no opportunity to eat dinner or return to the Omni in between.

8:30 PM - 11:00 PM: COMMITTEE SESSION I

LOCATION: VARIOUS (TBA)

Delegates will be escorted from the Opening Ceremony to their committee rooms by their chairs.

9:30 PM - 10:30 PM: ADVISOR MEETING I

LOCATION: SSS 114

At least one advisor from every delegation must attend for important information; attendance will be taken. Takes place during Committee Session I.

11:00 PM: DISMISSAL

LOCATION: OMNI MEZZANINE

Delegates will be escorted to the Omni by their chairs. Advisors must meet their delegates in their designated room (which will be communicated to advisors) and return to their lodging as one group.


Friday, January 24

10:00 AM - 4:30 PM: YALE DAY

LOCATION: VARIOUS (TBA)

Yale Day is one of YMUN’s most beloved and important traditions. Delegates will have the opportunity to attend lectures by distinguished Yale faculty, take tours of campus and Yale’s art gallery, participate in workshops with Yale student groups, and more. Although highly recommended, Yale Day is optional; advisors may decide whether or not to bring their delegates to campus for these events.
A detailed schedule of events for Yale Day will be available soon.
The Global Exchange Program will take place during this time, only open for delegates who were accepted into the program. (Applications will be released at the end of November 2023.)

3:00 PM - 4:30 PM: YALE SHOWCASE

LOCATION: BATTELL CHAPEL

As part of our Yale Day programming, delegates have the opportunity to attend a showcase of various Yale performance groups as a glimpse into extracurricular life at Yale.

6:00 PM - 8:15 PM: COMMITTEE SESSION II

LOCATION: VARIOUS (TBA)

8:15 PM - 8:30 PM: BREAK

8:30 PM - 10:30 PM: COMMITTEE SESSION III

LOCATION: VARIOUS (TBA)

9:00 PM - 10:00 PM: ADVISOR MEETING II

LOCATION: SSS 114

At least one advisor from every delegation must attend for important information; attendance will be taken. Takes place during Committee Session III.

10:30 PM: DISMISSAL

LOCATION: OMNI MEZZANINE

Delegates will be escorted to the Omni by their chairs. Advisors must meet their delegates in their designated room (which will be communicated to advisors) and return to their lodging as one group.


Saturday, January 25

9:30 AM - 12:00 PM: COMMITTEE SESSION IV

LOCATION: VARIOUS (TBA)

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: LUNCH BREAK

Delegates will be released from committees. Advisors should tell delegates where to meet and get lunch. Advisors are responsible for delegates during this time. 

1:30 PM - 3:45 PM: COMMITTEE SESSION V

LOCATION: VARIOUS (TBA)

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM: ADVISOR MEETING III

LOCATION: OMNI GRAND BALLROOM C

At least one advisor from each delegation must attend for important announcements. Participation certificates will be distributed at this event. Takes place during Committee Session V.

3:45 PM - 4:00 PM: BREAK

4:00 PM - 6:15 PM: COMMITTEE SESSION VI

LOCATION: VARIOUS (TBA)

Advisors should tell delegates where to meet after this committee session ends. Delegations may choose to remain around campus until the delegate dance, return to their lodging then come to the delegate dance, or return to their lodging for the remainder of the day.

8:30 PM - 11:00 PM: DELEGATE DANCE

LOCATION: OMNI GRAND BALLROOM

All participants are encouraged to attend, but the delegate dance is optional. In addition to music and dancing, there will be board games, trivia, and a movie. Delegates must arrive and leave with their advisors; this will be strictly enforced.

Recommended semi-formal dress code.


Sunday, January 26

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: COMMITTEE SESSION VII

LOCATION: VARIOUS (TBA)

A limited amount of luggage storage will be available in Omni York from 9:30 am until the conclusion of the Closing Ceremony. Space is limited; we ask that only delegations who need to store luggage use this space.

1:15 PM - 2:00 PM: CLOSING CEREMONY

LOCATION: WOOLSEY HALL

Please be seated by 1:15 sharp. Awards will be announced during the Closing Ceremony and may be picked up in Omni Church immediately after the Closing Ceremony concludes. 

2:00 PM - 2:45 PM: AWARD PICK-UP

LOCATION: Omni Church

We are not able to mail awards; all awards must be picked up at this time.
